General Info

If you’re wandering through the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven, the moment you step into Al Fresco, it immediately feels like a warm Italian welcome. This charming Italian restaurant blends simplicity with elegance, offering a relaxed environment that’s perfect for a leisurely lunch or a casual dine-in experience. The ambiance is inviting, with a subtle modern touch that makes it comfortable for both solo visits and small gatherings. As someone who appreciates authentic Italian flavors, I found the atmosphere at Al Fresco effortlessly sets the stage for a delightful meal.

One of the standout features of Al Fresco is their signature Broodje, a dish that perfectly embodies the balance of fresh ingredients and careful preparation. Each bite delivers a harmonious mix of textures, from the crisp, lightly toasted bread to the flavorful fillings, making it an ideal choice whether you’re grabbing a quick lunch or enjoying a relaxed sit-down. Beyond the Broodje, the menu offers a variety of Italian staples, all thoughtfully curated to reflect both traditional tastes and modern twists.

The convenience factor at Al Fresco is noteworthy. Their embrace of NFC mobile payments ensures a seamless checkout, letting diners focus more on enjoying the meal rather than handling transactions. It’s clear that attention to detail extends beyond the kitchen, creating a smooth experience from start to finish. I personally appreciated how this technology complements the friendly service, making each visit feel effortless yet personalized.

What makes Al Fresco particularly appealing is its combination of quality and accessibility. The restaurant’s location within the bustling campus area means it draws a mix of students, professionals, and local visitors, all enjoying the casual yet refined menu. It’s not just a place to eat; it’s a spot where the food, ambiance, and service all converge to create a memorable lunch or casual dining experience. Reviews frequently highlight the consistency and freshness of the dishes, reinforcing why this location has become a go-to for both repeat visits and first-time explorers.

What customers say?

“ Good quality pasta and pizzas. Spacious and well maintained. Can be crowded at lunch rush hour. Helpful staff. ”

- Madhav -

“ Pizza was great! The quality of the dough was excellent! The variety can be a problem (4 types). The staff is actually very nice. All in all, it's a great place for a quick bite with filling portions, but forget about dieting ”

- Reem Afifi - van Rijswijk -

“ Good option for pizzas. They used to have pastas but that seems to be gone, though they were not that great to start with. The pizzas are usually tasty abd they have a good variety each day and throughout the week. The best part is the staff, since they are always nice, helpful, and never miss a smile. They had “colorful” varied salads, but I’ve never tried them; I do see frequently that people choose them. The worst part is their “logistics”: there are days/times when you see lots of pizzas in the warming stations waiting to be chosen, and then there are times when there’s nothing and you just have to wait for one to come out of the oven. In practice it has become for me a place where I go first to check how long the queue is, and how much availability there is; if it seems like it won’t take too long I stay, otherwise I go downstairs to Subway ”
